Abstract
The research papers addresses the significance of the company’s plan for adding gender inclusive bathrooms and nursing mother’s room in the new office plan. The small software company comprises of 100 employees. Recently the company bought empty office building and started drafting drafting plans to renovate the place to accommodate the growing business. A small group including 10 workers who have worked for approximately 6 years in the company in different positions requested that the management to include gender inclusive bathroom s and dedicated nursing mother’s room. Unfortunately, the current office building did not have the space required for implementation. Therefore, working in the middle management role in the company, I was appointed to lead a transition planning team involving professionals in various positions in the syndicate, to carefully analyze the company’s request to the executive board. Our findings enabled the company executives to plan to accommodate the requests and provide employees with the spaces requested in the new office building. The decision caused the human resource office to receive positive feedback regarding its implementation. However, some people complaint, while others did not understand why the gender inclusive bathroom and nursing mother’s room had to added. Therefore, the current report explains what persuaded executive board to recommend on adding the spaces. Also, it is primarily focused on educating employees about the intended purpose of the spaces and clarifies how each should be used. Furthermore, it established recommendations and policies where necessary.

Beck (2017) explains that breastfeeding is a personal choice, although the realities associated with breastfeeding present numerous challenges to new mothers. As a result, workplaces that supports mothers as they return to work are regarded as the best. In this case, employers tend to support the infant’s health, and create effective collaboration between them and employees, which shows that they value their workers much. Although the Affordable Care Act showcases that organizations do not need to provide their time and space for nursing women to pump during working hours, numerous companies acknowledge that providing the spaces and time is kind and an excellent business move. For example, Birch box is a syndicate that provides healthcare grade pumps, systematic booking system, and snacks for its increasing population of breastfeeding women in the workplace.
Over many decades, transgender activists across the globe have claimed their rights to utilize a public restroom that conforms to their gender identity. In recent years, numerous companies have heeded to the campaigns’ requirements. For example, north Carolina state in March 2016, implemented laws that required people to be allowed to use only public restrooms that aligned with their sex as indicated on the birth certificates. The white house opposed the idea by stating that transgender people would only use bathrooms that matched their gender identity. Similarly, on 25th May 2016, 11 states decided to sue Obama’s Administration to hinder the state government from administering the said directive. However, it is important for companies to decide to construct transgender bathrooms to meet the needs of such individuals in the society. It is clear that many transgender people in learning institutions and various workplaces find it a challenge to utilize the unisex restrooms. As a result, implementing such amenities will be of a great help to such people. Therefore, it is important to address why a company should consider adding transgender restroom and breastfeeding room to its premise.

A nursing mothers room is usually created for mothers who would want to breastfeed their children after work. The nursing mothers room help mothers to combine their breastfeeding and working demands so that their breastfeeding experiences are convenient and pleasant as possible.
