Abstract
Ordinarily, preverbal infants do take part in statistical and probabilistic deduction to facilitate the understanding and learning about their physical world. Here, through the use of looking-time methods, we show that infants ranging between 9.6 months to 11.46 months employ statistical information to comprehend the occurrences in their social and psychological world.

Introduction
In the last few years, a lot of research studies have concentrated on characterizing the states of initial knowledge and evaluating the nature of the processes and mechanisms used for early learning in infancy. Young children may be regarded as intuitive psychologists because they spend the first few years of their life trying to comprehend and understand other people’s actions based on the underlying psychological causes which may include knowledge states, desires, emotions and preferences. It is sometimes difficult to comprehend how the infants learn these internal motivations. However, it has been examined that infants may use statistical evidence to unveil and disclose the nature of mind and action. Additionally, research studies have also indicated that young children possess a strong and robust learning mechanism which help them in computing different statistics over the data they get from the environment.
Literature Review
Other the years, researchers have made a significant effort in examining and understanding the processes of childhood development. Xu & Garcia (2008) refers to infants as intuitive statisticians and explains that they have the ability to make inferences about a population which a sample was collected from. Ordinarily, individuals have the ability to interpret other people’s behaviors as deliberate and goal oriented. Maróthi and Kéri (2014), explain that from an early age, human beings have the ability to use intuitive psychology to infer what contributes to the mental causes of the actions of the agents.
Some of the recent research studies conducted show that toddlers may use a violation of physical probabilities in deducing the preferences of the agents. However, other studies have considerably and indisputably indicated that preverbal infants are more likely to deduce preferences and inclination from unintentional actions which are not likely to violate physical probabilities (Wellman, Kushnir, Xu & Brink, 2016). Xu & Denison (2009), explain that infants may be sensitive to whether a given sample was generated or picked randomly from a population or not. These studies apply presented presentations where an individual reaches for one of two objects while the infant is looking. Ordinarily, the infant will look longer when the individual reaches of the object which had been ignored earlier. This may be a sign to indicate a violation of the expectations.
There are a few research studies that have examined if infants link and affix preferences to the violations of physical probabilities. These research are based on the prior studies which have indicated that infants are sensitive to the probabilistic connections and associations that exist between samples that represent populations in the physical world. Xu & Garcia (2008), carried a study to examine this phenomenon. The study involved eight months old infants who were presented with a box containing white and red balls which were in an 80-20 proportion. Then an individual drew some balls from this box randomly with the eyes closed. The researchers found that the infants looked longer when the individual picked red balls from a box of predominantly white balls. This study shows that infants may be sensitive to the statistical association that may exist between samples and population.
In another study involving eleven months infants, when the individuals acting on the objects reached for the samples without closing the eyes, the infants did not expect the samples to match the statistical properties of the population (Denison & Xu, 2010). Some of these studies show that infants have the ability to deduce that agents having predetermined preferences may contribute to a violation of physical probabilities. However, these studies give room for many questions regarding whether infants associate agents and intentions together with statistical probabilities to gain information about the social world.
