Introduction
A correctional facility refers to a designated area in which inmates are confined and denied freedom forcibly under the States’ law due to being convicted of various crimes. This paper bases on DC Youth Jail program, one of the correctional facilities in the South East DC. The programs provided by DC Youth Jail program are focused on to bring out how they influence or rather affect their inmates with the various programs so as to achieve their different influences.
Some of the programs offered at DC Youth Jail are Case Management, Case Planning Process, Community-based Planning, Community-based Services, Education, Electronic Monitoring, Family Empowerment and the New Beginnings Youth Development Center. The stated are the different programs offered in DC Youth Jail; they are as discussed in the paper below.
The Case Management is the first program offered at DC jail. There are case and care planning that is offered. The DC youths are taken under management and monitoring system which makes sure that they remain on the right track.
