A. After viewing the movie or TV show, select one of the supervisors (leaders).

B. Discuss THREE supervisory techniques that they used, using specific examples from the movie or TV episode. Do not spend too much effort explaining the background or details of the scenario, just get to the point on how they lead (or don't).

C. Make sure to discuss the following topics:

i. Which of the supervisory techniques were effective? Why?

ii. Which supervisory techniques were not effective? Why?

iii. Pick one scene and discuss what you would have done differently as a supervisor and why.

iv. How does a high-stress environment affect supervisory techniques, as compared or a less stressful environment?

v. What supervisory trait do you most relate to and why? You should include a personal account from your life.

vi. Why do supervisors fail if they are using a "textbook" technique? Explain using the scenes from the movie/show or your own personal life to enhance your explanation.

Such an outcome often relies on the film’s ability to deliver the intended message or theme to the audience by establishing a physical, emotional, and mental connection with the viewers across the age and gender divides. Movies and films that achieve this fete often end up getting diverse nominations, winning, and collecting awards from equally reputable institutions and organizations in cinematography worldwide. The directors or supervisors of such movies also tend to earn worthy recognition in the film production industry as pacesetters in the highly competitive sector. Some even go to the extent of establishing pedigrees for masterful integration of film production techniques and thus developing identities in the industry that easily displays in their works. Frank Darabont offers a careful articulation of film production techniques in developing scintillating scenes of a box office classic withstanding the test of time as it continues to capture the attention of viewers across generations. Darabont carefully uses color and lighting to showcase the different physical, mental, and emotional challenges faced by inmates at the prison. The use of high-key lighting in the yard as Andy Dufresne and other convicts arrive at the prison, for instance, and the low-key lighting, shadows, and darkness depicting the cells on the first night of the new inmates creates a stark contrast between the prison confinements and the limited freedoms in the yard CITATION CiL23 \l 1033 (Ci-Lovers, 2023). The darkness used in depicting Andy Dufresne’s solitary confinement after seeking the warden’s help to make a retrial request following the new information he gets from Tommy Williams reiterates the solitude nature of punitive stints in the narrower spaces in the prison CITATION Dar94 \l 1033 (Darabont, 1994). The sharp ray of light illuminating the solitary confines when the guard brings the sad news of Tommy William’s demise to Andy Dufresne further emphasizes the contrasting freedoms within the prison confines CITATION Dar94 \l 1033 (Darabont, 1994).
