I think that quality inspection, as part of Quality Control, is needed at all companies. It is when we determine whether the quality of a particular product is up to the mark or not and then separate the defective products from good ones to get them disposed or repaired at a later stage. As a distribution operator at Siemens, it is my responsibility to prevent defective items from reaching the customers. If the company designs and builds products that are defect-free, then they can eliminate the need for quality inspection. My rationale is that there are a lot of variables that are part of the manufacturing process, and at every stage, the quality of products should be ensured so that a single person (like the distribution operator) needs not to check every item that is dispatched.
