Introduction
It is the dream and wish of every person to be in good health condition throughout his lifetime. In simple terms, free from diseases, that is mental illness or any other physical disorder. It is also the aim of the US to provide good health services to its citizens via massive investments in the health sectors. However, this has been a great challenge that is yet to be overcome depending on the strategy to be used.
Schizophrenia is a disorder that is characterized by impaired emotions, thinking and even behaviors. It is a mental illness that is usually associated with the brain of a person. From a reliable source of data, in the US, approximately 25% of the hospital beds are occupied by people with this disorder.The undifferentiated type of Schizophrenia is the one that is not specified. Patients with this kind of disorder always exhibit symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions or even disorganized speech after a period of a month or even more. In this paper I am going to discuss more about the undifferentiated type of schizophrenia chronic disorder, the symptoms and the treatment associated with the disorder.
The symptoms of Schizophrenia
In any disorder or form of illness in a person, there are always symptoms associated with it. Moreover, for a therapist to establish the type of illness, he must list down and analyze on the symptoms first. Therefore, the undifferentiated type of schizophrenia has the following symptoms;
Hallucinations- this is among the symptoms observed from the patients suffering from this type of disorder. The patient will at times see or hear things that do not exist. This can be observed when the patient will start reacting in a weird manner, for example a patient might start to scream or even be scared when people get into closer to him.
Disorganized speeches- this is also another symptom that will be observed when dealing with such a patient. There will be no flow of speech from him or her; at times he will always be talking of irrelevant things (Weinberger, 2011). This is because his mind will be jumping from one idea to another hence there cannot be any understanding between him and a normal person.
Delusions- itÒ⬙s another symptom that always scares the patient, this symptom makes the patient have a strong belief on something that is not true. For example a patient might believe that one may have powers that can harm him.
Weird character- some of the patients will develop unacceptable characters like remaining on one position for a long period of time, some of the patients will also wear many clothes on a sunny day or even become stupor. Many of these patients will behave in a way that is different from other people; the patient will always find difficulties in any goal oriented behavior.
Negative symptoms- these are the most difficult symptoms for therapist to evaluate. They are characterized by poverty of speech from the patient, lack of emotions and the absence of will. Therapists find it more easier dealing with patients with positive symptoms than negative ones.
Medical treatment for the disorder
Treatment for a patient with this disorder will mainly depend on the stage that the patient is. Medical treatment for this problem always comes after the patient has become stable. This treatment is usually done in order to ensure that the patient is completely healed and no possibility of him falling ill again. Some of this treatment will include:
Rehabilitation- this will involve a vocational period in a rehab center for the patient. At this place the patient will meet other patients with the same disorder and their aim will be to come out completely from the problem (Sharma, & Petosa, 2014). There will be also constant talks to the patient from prominent people in encouraging them on matters pe...
