 1] Homeschooling is associated with parents and guardians taking charge of their children’s education and not delegating this important function to third parties. While homeschooling is associated with those who prefer the opinion for religious or moral reasons, one of the major advantages, is that the schooling schedule is organized in a way that suits the learners, parents, and guardians. There is flexibility in homeschooling when compared to public education where the teachers must follow the curriculum strictly. In the public schools, education and teaching may be treated as two functions, and at times there is little cooperation between the parents and teachers, yet they can work together to improve the learning outcomes. Homeschooling is better than traditional education as there is an emphasis on competitiveness, personal choice, and curriculum flexibility, evaluating actual student learning outcomes, quality of teaching instructions.
2] Students combine daily living activities with flexible curriculums to improve learning and this encourages competitiveness. While there is anecdotal evidence that homeschooling can be competitive if not better than public schools, the latter can learn from homeschooling as they are encouraged to be innovative and flexible to remain competitive in different aspects of education (Murphy, 2014).  Even among homeschoolers, there is a higher overrepresentation of students who went to private schools rather than public schools, and this highlights that parents and guardians seek the best option as a public school are congested, poorly funded and may deter competition because there is a lack of quality education.  According to Thomas (2016), families tend to have experience in various forms of education including public and private schooling, including knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages of each option, and they weigh this before deciding on homeschooling. Homeschooling supports better curriculum flexibility and effective as students have diverse learning needs. Flexibility remains one of the factors influences parents to choose homeschooling over traditional schools, as there are various choices on curriculum to choose from and instructional design (Thomas, 2016). The parents and guardians take a more active role in their child’s education as they are committed to ensuring that learning is most effective. Furthermore, this allows them to make personal choices based on the alternative education models available. Now more than ever before, there are homeschooling curriculums, which address different aspects of education, including integrating religion and moral values (Ray, 2017).  While the parents or teachers in homeschooling may need to teach multiple grades simultaneously if there are fast learners, their education can be accelerated, and the curriculum adapted to meet their needs. 
 There is more objective assessment of student learning outcomes and the curriculum can be altered where a need arises. In traditional schooling, there is less flexibility to improve learning because of bureaucracies and need to adhere to standards, which may affect learning outcomes as schools are not responsive to changing student needs. Thomson & Jang (2016)  pointed out that there is more focus on  on p personalized education and  religiosity in homeschooling and this has been associated with low risk of antisocial behavior and improved social learning even when controlling for parental attachment, and family structure.
