Kotter (1996) defines management as processes which keep people and technology running smoothly no matter how complicated they are. While a manager according to Reh (2008) is the person who plans, directs, monitors the work of a group of individuals, and taking necessary action when needed.

A manager should be a good role model. His deeds should be those that when someone looks at them they desire to emulate them. This helps those emulating them have positive feedback in all that they do. It also leads to your employees giving you the respect that you deserve. Silverman (2008) points out that a good role model should always if not always make positive choices this makes him/her a credible role model.
Not all managers that are good role models. Some people are adored due to their negative deeds. This lead to these role models having a negative impact on those people who are emulating them. Literature review
Effective leadership helps every nation at the time of need. This is what makes an organization successful and thus, hitting its profits (Mills, 2005).
Martin and Glenn (2008) states that two things that remain true in management are: A big proportion of employees think that their managers don`t have what it takes to be a leader and lack interpersonal skills. The other thing is that most managers are in their positions due to their technical know-how and not their ability to manage other people. This is because many managers want to be taken on the basis of what they can do instead of how they want a task done and in this case by the employees.
Silverman (2008) describes a role model as a person who other people imitate, emulates or look up to for guidance. He continues to say that they are those good role models who have a positive impact on the people emulating them. While there are other bad role models, who bring a bad influence on the person emulating them. In the researcher`s case, the researcher will concentrate on the good role models. He continues giving characteristics of good role models. To him a good role model should: make positive choices, think out loud, admit when he is wrong and apologize for his/her mistakes, be respectful, should be well-rounded, should have confidence in who they are and finally a good role model should follow through on those whom he/she is mentoring.
Vanessa (2008) describes a business strategy as a plan or trend that will make ones business or businesses grow. This should be the goal of every manager. Growth is what makes one know whether he/she is making progress or not.

In relation to this the researcher used other secondary sources such as books, journals and articles that are related to the topic of management.

Financial shortages while carrying out the research, to print out the questioners the researcher needed money. There was also the need of money when it came to transport from one business to another and this at times became so difficult for the researcher to handle in terms of finances.
Not all the businesses that the researcher went into were welcoming. Some businesses personnel were not willing to cooperate thus, forcing the researcher to find other businesses to carry out the research.
This researcher was demanding and thus, the researcher had to sacrifice time to do it. This led to the researcher missing most of the co-curricular activities but at long run the sacrifice was worthwhile.
