Stages-of-Life and the influence of age in health care from a patient's perspective

Introduction
In an attempt to grasp an idea about people's experiences and interaction with the health care system in certain stages of life, I interviewed my grandfather, who is 79 years old. There are five stages of life, namely infancy, childhood, youth, adulthood, and old age. My grandfather belongs to the old age stage of life, and her experiences and interaction with the health care system are not similar to the experiences of youths or adulthood.
Interaction with healthcare professionals
According to my grandfather, his interaction with healthcare professionals has slightly declined over the years. For effective and efficient healthcare services, thoughtful communication is always required. Still, he feels that, unlike younger people, he has become frail and no longer in a good position to express himself. Having multiple chronic conditions, he is often forced to depend on people for help in seeking medical attention. He also feels that some medical practitioners express stereotypes about the elderly, which has severally led him to be isolated when seeking medical care. On top of possible isolation and ageism, he feels that his difficulty in performing everyday mobility and tasks has contributed to his declining interaction with healthcare professionals. Declining mobility has, for example, prevented him from pursuing his preferred medical care as well as his select healthcare practitioners, and he now has to live independently through programs and services that emphasize more on his safety.
