The participant has a family, which is comprised of him, his wife and one child. The paternal and maternal parents have all passed on from various health complications. However, the father and mother are both alive. The participant has three brothers while his wife has one brother and sister, all of whom are alive. The participant’s father is a banker while the mother is a teacher. The participant is a lecturer while the wife is a teacher (Bridge, 2011). Their child is two and half years old. According to the participant, he is very cautious about his health and that of his family (teaching history taking to medical students: A systematic review, 2015). As such, he has always maintained strict dietary provisions in the house and regular medical checkups for the entire family. As such, the participants maintains that he has maintained close evaluations of his family’s health and will continue to do so in the future. The participant has been diagnosed with asthma which can be traced back to his father and further down the family tree to the paternal grandmother. The wife to the participant has been diagnosed with asthma as well (Bridge, 2011). Their child has also been diagnosed with asthma, which can be traced to its parents; the participant and the wife (teaching history taking to medical students: A systematic review, 2015). As such there is a developmental aspect that can be traced up and down the family tree. This is an element that can be identified with the asthma and obesity in the family (teaching history taking to medical students: A systematic review, 2015). In light of the cultural considerations, the participant is white as are the rest of the family. For the physical assessment, the body system that would be top of the list would be the lungs. One of the learning proprieties is managing asthma and understanding the hereditary aspect of the condition (Fawcett & Rhynas, 2012).
To meet with participants I sent out an email to ask them for their participation, to which they replied by accepting the offer and agreeing to meet for the interview. The interview was held at a local dinner to ensure that the interviewee felt comfortable. This was done at 3 PM in the afternoon, at a time when the dinner was not crowded. As such, the participants did not have to worry about overcrowding and other persons listening in to the interview (Sando, Elliott, Stanton, Melonie & Doty, 2013).
