1. EBP Proposal Final Paper Throughout this course you have been developing a formal, evidence-based practice proposal to improve quality of care or improve healthcare outcomes. The proposal is the plan for an EBP project designed to address a problem, issue, or concern in the professional work setting. Although several types of evidence can be used to support a proposed solution, a sufficient and compelling base of support from valid research studies is required as the major component of that evidence. Proposals are submitted in a format suitable for obtaining formal approval in the work setting. Proposals will vary in length depending upon the problem or issue addressed, they can be between 3,500 and 5,000 words, approximately 11-16 pages. The cover sheet, abstract, references page, and appendices are not included in the word limit. A proposal with less than 11 pages or more than 16 will be charged a penalty in grading. Section headings are required for each section exactly as outlined below. Evaluation of the proposal in all sections is based upon the extent to which the depth of content reflects graduate-level, critical-thinking skills. This project contains seven formal sections: • Section A: Organizational Culture and Readiness Assessment • Section B: Problem Description • Section C: Literature Support • Section D: Solution Description • Section E: Change Model • Section F: Implementation Plan • Section G: Dissemination of Evidence The first six sections were submitted as separate assignments, so your instructor could provide feedback as noted above. Section G: Dissemination of Evidence is a new section to be included in the final paper/proposal but will not have feedback from the instructor. The final paper consists of the completed project (with revisions), title page, abstract, reference list, and appendices. Appendices will include a conceptual model for the project (figure, picture, or line drawing showing connection of key concepts), handouts, data and evaluation collection tools, a budget, a timeline, and resource lists. INSTRUCTIONS FROM INSTRUCTOR: Dear class: We are reaching the finish line with our week 7 final paper and the power point presentations. For your final paper - let us keep it to 11- 16 pages please insert the content page, abstract (tell me what this project is about)and most importantly your references APA 7th edition, and appendices which will not be included as the 11-16 pages! The project must have the seven formal sections delineated: 1. Section A - Organizational culture (what did they think of your project and what barriers did you face) Provide the Readiness Assessment you conducted to see if the Organization was ready for the change. 2. Section B- Problem description - What was the problem you were analyzing? 3. Section C- What literature supported your PICO? 4. Section D- What solution did you fine regarding the PICO? 5. Section E- What was the model for the change you wanted to implement and would work best in your organizational culture 6. Section F- How did you implement the plan 7. Section G- Dissemination of Evidence - what did you find as a result of your PICO and how was this implemented according to evidence base practic? Your appendices must include the conceptual model - figure of it, and lines drawing to show the connection to the key concepts. Mention what handouts did you use, data and evaluation, any collection tools, your budget, what was the timeline and resource lists you used.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to identify the violent behaviors of patients, patients’ family/relatives, visitors, and colleagues, to evaluate the occurrence of abuse or violence experienced by nurses after one year of workplace violence prevention interventions, and to compare the effectiveness of the recommended WPV interventions to the previous condition of the facility prior to the intervention. The methods will include the following steps: assessment, education, self-checking, sharing experiences, and post-evaluation conducted by Team STEPPs also implementing the NIOSH Violence Prevention for Nurses. The expected outcome after one year of the intervention is better behavioral management skills during violent or hostile work situations, consequently improving overall work performance, efficiency, and patient care. Through this research, the current protocol towards workplace violence will be improved to a more preventive intervention that will be beneficial for the nurses, including other healthcare workers, and patients.
SECTION G: Dissemination of Evidence
The workplace violence prevention interventions among the nurses in the acute care settings result in better behavioral management skills when facing difficult situations involving patients and even those in the leadership team or administration. Mainly, it has a significant effect on nursing practice by the decreased violence towards nurses due to the increased awareness provided by the intervention. Relevant evidence found in the literature was used to address the question regarding healthcare workplace violence, with consideration to the application to the nursing practice. In addition to the result of the PICO, this research identified the lack in the current practice such as a definite preventive and reactive protocol, as well as an effective and sustainable organization that will create positive change in the healthcare practice if addressed.
