Sepsis Care Education Program FOUNDATIONS OF SEPSIS MANAGEMENT INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION IN SEPSIS CARE Learning Outcomes: a. Knowledge and comprehension of pathophysiology of sepsis and early signs and symptoms. b. Utilize evidence-based sepsis screening and early intervention protocols. Learning Objectives: * According to the use of clinical guidelines, highlight some of the key symptoms and risk factors for sepsis. * Institute early detection of sepsis through screening and intervention with the appropriate administration of antibiotics in a timely manner to reduce mortality among patients. Administer timely interventions (such as antibiotics) to reduce patient mortality. Scaffolding: This is a foundation course providing the necessary knowledge regarding the identification and management of sepsis, with the view of ensuring the learners are acquainted with the important clinical competencies that are essential for timely intervention that belongs to the realm of patient safety and quality care. Learning Outcomes: a. Students should be able to effectively collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team in the management of care related to sepsis. b. Students should be able to provide communication regarding and coordination of interventions between departments to deliver timely care for sepsis patients. Learning Objectives: a. Practice selected sepsis care scenarios in interdisciplinary teams, which promotes improvement in team communication. b. Apply team-based intervention protocols to enhance coordination between emergency, ICU, and other hospital departments for comprehensive patient care.
