These are learned by individuals according to their cultures and background. This means that healthcare providers need to adopt culture-sensitive communication skills to provide healthcare services to people from all cultures with ease (Bakić-Mirić et al., 2018). LEARN is an acronym for Listen, Explain, Acknowledge, Recommend, Negotiate (Ladha et al., 2018). Listening involves assessing how patients understand their health conditions, causes, and potential treatments. Healthcare providers understand the concerns of their patients from various cultures by listening and paying attention to details.
