Napoleon Hill was born on 26th October 1883 in Pound, Virginia, United States. Although he loved his mother at his tender age, he was unable to get the required parent care as the mother passed away when Hill was only 10 years of age. Two years after the death of his mother, his father remarried another wife to take care of the family as revealed by Hill (2012). At his tender age, Hill was a rebellious child, however, this changed, as he became a good and respectful person in his future life and undertakings. According to Hill (2012), Napoleon had passion in literature writing, a career he started at the age of 13. He first worked for a local newspaper organization, mountain reporters, where he developed his career and interest in writing that later made him become one of the motivational authors in America and in the entire world.
Throughout his entire life and career, Hill was opposed to the existing of different classes within societies. According to his opinion, there exists no reason why people should fail to achieve their dreams. Hill (2012) records that it is through the above opinion that Hill spent over 25 years of his life defining and giving various reasons why many people do fail to meet their financial and happiness dreams of their lives. Throughout his career, Hill has been seen as an author whose work was to influence people towards successful life. Therefore, as compared to other authors within his career, he has been seen as the most influential writer globally. For instance, through his book Think and Grow Rich, he helped many people to change their way of living in order to develop better strategies and approaches of achieving their dreams.
During his time as a literature writer, Hill achieved many successes especially as a journalist and attorney. For instance, Hill (2012) revealed that by working as a reporter helped him to collect enough money for his schooling at the time he was at law school. During his time in school, he was mandated to take part in writing various assignments that touches different stories especially stories related to success in life. According to Hill (2012), his passion in writing and journalism was realized when he was given the opportunity to interview Andrew Carnegie. It is through the interview that Andrew discovered the potential in Hill and later mandated Hill to interview over people in order for them to come up with effective ways of achieving their success in life. Some of the people interviewed include Brian William, Wanamaker John, Wilson Woodrow and Eastman George among other personalities at the time.
By discovering his personality and thinking capabilities towards success, Andrew employed him as his personal advisor. Through the help provided by Andrew, Hill formulated various thoughts and ideas that helped many tycoons at the time to achieve better achievements in life. For instance, through many articles that he wrote in 1908 were used by many successful people in America to achieve their success in life. According to Hill (2012), his main discovery and idea to wards success was that the road to success is simple and can be obtain through a simple formula that each and every person would find easy to understand and achievable. For instance, Hill revealed the success is achievable through developing better and effective passion and strategies towards your dreams. In case of challenges, people need not to give up but should remain focus to the success as it is on their ways.
Although it took Napoleon over 20 years to have his own book, but the idea learnt and developed before producing his first book, Think and Grow Rich, helped him write a book that had many positive impact to the American people and within the entire world. According to the information provided by Hill (2012), Hill managed to sell approximately 7 million copies of his first book due to better ideas generated within the book towards better and effective ways of achieving success in life. Many people may think that road to success is a simple matter as pronounced by Hill in many occasion, but for one to get exactly what they are required to do in order to achieve their dreams in life, reading the book, Think and Grow Rich, was a must.
