Discussion Excessive technology use has been linked with an increase in cases of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) among grown youngsters. This is coupled with poor sleep patterns, which may present in the form of a more prolonged onset of sleep or shorter sleep time. Bourchtein et al. (2019) used a multi-informant technique to study the variations in adolescents with and without ADHD with specific associations with technology use and sleep patterns. They found out that youngsters struggling with ADHD had participated in at least twofold as much daily video games and social media use and had more sleep-wake problems.
