Highlighting of the Main Points in the Paper
Quality Function Development QFD is considered a process than just a tool for product as well as the development process based on the concept of a companywide quality control. The performance of a product and its functional characteristics may not primarily depend upon the normal aspects as considered. In this, it is essential to determine the fact that competitive products have no obligation but to satisfactorily perform over their useful life expectancy, a factor that makes the role of after-sale service essential. In order to effectualize the life of a product, the application of QFD ensures the quality development of the product translates the requirements of the clients into the design process, a factor that plays a significant role in ensuring that the products life is put under consideration during the period of purchase and should, in other words, affect the impact of a business's performance.
However, the enactment of a warranty program needs a systematic process that identifies and analyzes the risks that are likely to occur during a program. The first process in managing a risk entails the approach of identifying the risks that are associated in the development of a warranty program (Hauser & Clausing, 1988). This requires the enactment of a systematic procedure that translates the Voice of Customers into technical needs thus displaying the relevant information in a matrix form for organizations in order to determine the critical areas that clients' needs assistance. This remains one of the essential approaches in determining the validity of risk assessment that considers the customers' requirements among other technical factors. This paper, therefore, seeks to underline the quality function development in identifying the risks that are associated with the warranty programs.
Additionally, it is essential to also consider that once the risks are determined, the functional development approach translates the designed requirements into parts and processes to meet the production requirements. This aids in understanding the requirements of customers in developing quality products that adds value to the needs of the clients and reduces the implementation time used in the development of a product. The effectiveness of a warranty management program in this case requires the initiation of a leading practice that points out to the critical issues and the risks associated with those concerns in making a decision. This can therefore be used in the hiring process and training of the employees in comprehensive quality systems for the satisfaction of customer. Additionally, it is essential that a well-defined customer relationship management is also initiated with the aim of dealing with the risks that are associated with products.
Another element to consider is the fact that there is a need to use effective tools in identifying the risks that may hinder an organization from achieving its goals. This approach requires that the requirements of the customer are defined, prioritized, and determined in developing product characteristics that are relevant to the requirements of the customers. In this it is, therefore, critical to ensure that a warranty provides the consumers with the risks associated with the product with the aim of reducing the gaps between the services that a company offers and the expectations of the customers. To also achieve this, it is essential that an extension is carried that correlates the customers' requirements with the developed products and prioritizes the engineering characteristics in order to initiate quality product specifications in which the risks are analyzed and evaluated through a research approach in this field in ensuring an understanding of the process of a risk management (Hauser & Clausing, 1988).
Critical Analysis
One element that critically intrigues my thought in this paper is the fact that the performances of products including their functional characteristics remain a different element in considering a product's value. According to the author of this material, competitive products have to perform suitably over their usefulness, a factor that makes the role of the a...
