To offer value to consumers and other stakeholders; many organizations have realized that BPM is a necessary tool for managing business process independencies. Organizations are under pressure to address consumers’ needs, enhance services and products, and to minimize costs. BPM provides practical solutions to such issues. Strupe (2009) views that BPM software solutions are used to optimize business process interdependencies to create true value in an organization. As business process interdependencies are the core to delivering values to consumers and other stakeholders, the management, and improvement of such business processes are important to the optimization of productivity. An organization that understands the relevance of BPM focuses on managing and improving business processes as its core approach to creating value for consumers and other stakeholders. Understanding, managing and improving business process independencies enable organizations to simplify processes, streaming activities, removing wastes, and eliminating barriers.
BPM plays a critical function of designing organizational processes to synchronize coordination of activities in the entire company. This is vital because any change of a single process can create significant impacts on other processes in the company. For instance, in a manufacturing process, a change of production process can affect other processes like procurement and purchasing, human resource, and sales (Tanrikorur, 2007). Therefore, organizations should be aware of crucial effects of every decision they create on the organization’s business processes to create changes which maintain the ability of the company to operate effectively.
SAP is an ERP solution designed for both large and SMEs’ enterprises to enable organizations to increase profitability, maintain control, ensure organizational growth, and automate business processes. SAP solutions help to develop and manage organization’s core functions including financial accounting, purchasing, administration, sales, banking, stock control, management reporting and accounting, manufacturing, and customer relationship management. Magal and Word (2013) explain that employees and managers alike can use SAP solutions to process information more efficiently, assisting them in creating effective business decisions.
SAP software is an important enterprise system that helps to automate manual business processes and enable the organization to become more efficient. Through SAP, managers easily access information and data, and the software can be utilized to transform the flow of information (MuleSoft, 2014). Managers and employees can use SAP software to perform tasks simultaneously instead of sequentially; thus, speeding up the execution of business processes. SAP software also helps to drive new business models which would not be manageable without the enterprise system.
It is evident that the SAP solutions are important to organizations. SAP software helps departments to operate better and to meet their day-to-day business needs. SAP solutions assist finance teams in creating significant business insights and developing a competitive edge for the organization. Strupe (2009) say that SAP solutions integrate financial analytics and processes together by automating them to develop innovative business insights in the entire corporate landscape. Secondly, SAP supply chain management software enables procurement department to meet increasing customer expectations, operate complex supply networks, rapidly respond to customer needs, perform inventory management and demand planning; thus helps the department to operate a real-time supply chain. The procurement department also uses SAP procurement and sourcing software to perform spend analysis, e-procurement, and assists in creating repeatable cost savings and enhancing compliance and quality.
Besides that, marketing department uses SAP marketing software to enhance customer engagement at each stage of purchasing (buying) cycle. The SAP marketing software enables the marketing department to perform contextual marketing and real-time customer analytics. Thus, helps the marketing department to offer individualized marketing, which enhances customer engagement and boosts brand loyalty in all channels (Magal and Word, 2013). Apart from that, SAP advanced CRM sales software enables sales and marketing department to automate sales functions beyond traditional CRM. The sales software helps sales executives to enhance sales performance and productivity and create insights to create rapid business decisions and develop a 360 view of their clients, and, therefore, sell smarter everywhere. Fourth, SAP manufacturing software helps marketing department to collaborate with international networks and to create real-time visibility into its operations. SAP’s ERP solutions assist manufacturing department in optimizing its entire processes of supply chain management, process scheduling, production plan...
