Kodak’s biggest failure was not lack of innovation, but the hesitancy and lack of belief in the potential of their products. Kodak was among the first companies to develop a digital camera. It was Kodak’s mistake to fail to push the product into the market. It was incumbent on them to convince the people that they have a product for the future and convince the masses to buy it. They failed to believe in their product and that stifled their efforts to move forward and unleash the potential it had. For a company with the stature of Kodak at its peak, and controlling a lion’s share of the photography business, it should have been more risk tolerant in trying to push its product into the market. The company should have believed in their product and led the world into the digital photography age. Looking back, we now know that the world was ready and willing to adopt the technology. Therefore, the biggest failure of Kodak lies not in innovation, but in failing to belief in its products
