Correlation Between the Reasons for Taking the Job and the RA's Performance
This is a group research paper, and my part is Discussion. The topic, research data file and the requirements of my part are in the attached files.
Topic
We are trying to find if the reason why RAs wanted their jobs (personal interest or the benefits) affects how seriously they take their job.
We found that there is a strong correlation between the independent variable and dependent variable.
When the RAs take their job for personal interest, they are likely to take their job more seriously, however, if they take the job for benefits, they take the job less seriously.

Example: Correlation
The average extraversion score was 3.5 (SD = 1.5). The average job satisfaction score was 27.5 (SD = 5.8)”

“More extraverted people had more job satisfaction (r = .32, p = .02). This correlation was medium in size and was significantly different from zero.”

The data presented in the section shows a correlation between the different reasons for taking the job as well as the RA’s performance. First, it is worth noting that the Mean of the independent variables would provide a general idea about how seriously the RA’s take their jobs. For example, when it comes to the different benefits involved (i.e., salary, resume, improvement, free housing) the independent variable of ‘free housing’ provides the most significant amount of motivation for the RAs. As could be seen from the Table below (Table 1), this variable has the greatest Mean, which also suggests that it is one of the best benefits that could motivate the RAs to do their job.

As could be seen from the graph below,
In Figure 1, the graph representing how the RA’s perform based on their personal interest in the job shows that there is strong correlation between the two. Although there’s a possibility for certain ‘noises’ in the data, it seems that the general population surveyed according to this matter do not have any outliers.
