Introduction
The world has become very interconnected, with people having the ability to work anywhere in the world. Globalization has become a rather fashionable concept and one the social life that people live are now determined by the global processes, such as world economies and cultures (Boita, Grigorescu, Constantin & Ajtay, 2012). The national borders that once limited the distances and places travelled have since been diminished to mere lines on paper. For sovereignty purposes, the boundaries still exist. Other than that, people have the freedom to move across the globe. Transportation is one of the systems that has enabled the globalization process, where people have the ability to travel anywhere they want for business or pleasure. Air transport is a crucial part of the transportation systems and form the bulk of the travels that people take in and out of the country. Different airlines operate thousands of flights to different places across the globe. It is this element of the ease to travel that has had massive impact on globalization (Chandler, 1997). Ideally, the transport system may be seen as the one that has led to the current level of globalization. However, without globalization, air transport would be quite difficult. It the measures that have been put in places such as policies that have enabled the air transport to benefit from globalization. As such globalization is one of the most fundamental pillars that have aided the air transport to become a large and important entity in the world economies (Grancay, 2010).

Globalization
Globalization is the processes that involves increased international integration of the various production processes as well as the markets for the various gods and services. As a result the various national economies have experienced a liberation in their national boundaries, reduces trade barriers that enhance business transactions, free movement of people, goods and services (Grancay, 2010). This also brings about more foreign direct investment as companies are able to expand to other countries and develop in other markets relative to demand and supply. Governments are able to transact with other governments and increase the level of multi-lateral trade (Dias, 2010). Different countries have different production capacities relative to the expertise and the resources that they have. As such, much like businesses operate, countries also sell what they have in surplus to other countries regardless of whether they are goods or services. People are thus able to consume services and goods that their country does not essentially produce. This is an aspect of globalization that has led to massive development across the globe. At the same time, people who have various professional skills are able to market themselves to a wider audience (Chandler, 1997). Nurses for example are able to level their country of origin and work in a foreign country. In the recent past, countries like Saudi Arabia have seen in influx of nurses coming in from across the globe (Bbc.co.uk, 2016). As such the citizens in this country are able to enjoy quality health despite the fact that they country does not have enough local nurses and medical professionals. At the same time Saudi Arabia is able to export oil and gas to countries across the globe that do not have the production capacity or do not have the oil and gas resources entirely.
Elements such technology have been adopted all over the world relative to the platform that has been created by globalization. It is important to point out that technology has been one of the most important driving forces behind globalization. Using technology, countries can enjoy faster transfer of resources across boarders than ever before. All areas of the economy are now heavily reliant on technology (Grancay, 2010). At the same time, technology as created a seamless platform that allows people and companies to connect with one another across the globe. As such, technology enjoins the rest of the world is a sphere that does not have boundaries. Buying and selling goods and services no longer struggles with the national or even continental boundaries. Globalization has thus taken on a trend that mimics a borderless world, where one can access resources from anywhere in the world if they have the need for them (Bbc.co.uk, 2016). Aspects such social, cultural and political, are also affected by globalization. Relative to the element of integration that has been created at the global scale, political, social and culture aspects are now shared across the various borders. Due to the nature of globalization, countries across the globe now share their cultural, social and political backgrounds. In the last few decades the world economy has experienced some major developments (Boita, Grigorescu, Constantin & Ajtay, 2012). Most of the developments in these decades can be directly associated with globalization. Some of the main processes that have shaped the various activities of the economy include the expansion of the political corporation that is between various countries in the world, changing the multinational corporations’ strategies, a shift in the dynamic interactions that businesses share as well as the states and advancement of technology which has been rapid (Bbc.co.uk, 2016).

Due to the rise in the rate of global trade, the transportation systems have had to be developed over the years (Benefiting from globalisation Transport sector contribution and policy challenges, 2008). Development has been geared towards moving goods and services to places that they have not been delivered before and more volume to existing markets. Transport plays a crucial role in business and thus globalization has also had a very subtle impact on it (Chandler, 1997). Cheaper and faster transport systems help the multinational companies to build companies across the globe and deliver goods and services with ease. The magnitude of the transport sector is subtle in the entire global economy (Grancay, 2010). In the US, the transport system accounts for more than 11 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. In term of the jobs the sector has created, in the entire US work force, one in every seven jobs in the US is in the transport sector. This paints a vivid picture of the impact that transportation plays in the economy (Boita, Grigorescu, Constantin & Ajtay, 2012).
