Comparison and Contrast between Minoans and Mycenaean’s Art
Although Mycenaean’s were influenced by Minoan’s civilization, their way of life was different, and this is reflected in their arts. They both flourished on Crete and Greek mainland (13) and decorated their palaces and structures with frescoes applying lime color paintings on their walls and using vibrant colors (16). However, their iconographic elements were different. Minoans used religious iconography that depicted their gods. The Mycenaean’s walls were painted with lesser quality decorations.
