Several movies have been acted to imitate and show the probable lives inside the prisons. However, most of the films with the theme of prison life depict prison as an awful place to ever find yourself in. For instance, the Shawshank Redemption movie calls the prison a place of intense brutality. We cannot deny these allegations since we can all imagine the kind of life given to people who have been found guilty of various types of offenses and largely need to be punished for their wrongdoing. The movie further categorizes prisoners as vulnerable to multiple attacks, such as physical and sexual violence, murder, assault, exploitation, and other forms of attack. The movies and books on prison life only give a snick pi of the real life in America's correctional institutions that are regarded as dull and places of violence. Violence is inevitable, primarily in high-security institutions. Boring is the other name given to prison life since the prisoners spend most of their lives bundled in some lonely corners of their rooms awaiting meal times. There are various types of prison systems according to state and federations. Additionally, the Department of Defence also has a military prison system. Prison experiences are not uniform in the various prison institutions. Hence, the experiences are unique and shaped by the culture laid down by the rules in those prisons. According to sociologists, prison life is likened to total institutions that shape people's behaviors, just like churches and the military. Sentencing of an individual occurs after the conviction or pleading guilty of the offenders, with the judge issuing the equivalent punishment based on the applicable laws.
