Health Issue based on Biopsychosocial model

Reaction Paper Instructions:
Review the article, The Biopsychosocial Model 25 Years Later: Principles, Practice, and Scientific Inquiry. Think about how and why the biopsychosocial model was created. Also, consider the role of a patient’s subjective experience in the diagnosis and treatment of health issues. Review the remaining articles on the biopsychosocial model. Think about how biological, psychological, and social factors affect the health and wellness issues addressed in the articles. Select one health issue from the following list: (Please feel free to choose either topic that's easiest, I was going to choose Migraine Headaches, but again, you can use what's easier.) Migraine headaches Postpartum depression Obesity Substance abuse/addiction Eating Disorder (anorexia, bulimia) Identify biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to the health issue you selected. Reflect on how the person’s subjective experience may influence the mitigation or severity of the health issue you selected. Describe the health issue you selected and identify key contributors or factors, based on the biopsychosocial model, that could contribute to the development of the issue (be sure to include all three aspects of the model). Then describe the role of subjective experience and how it could influence the mitigation/severity of the issue. ***** Only 1 page or less is needed, this is only a discussion post*** Available references to use Borrell-Carrie, F., Suchman, A. Biopsychosocial Factors in Migraine Headaches Name Institution Course and Code Professor Date Biopsychosocial Factors in Migraine Headaches Description of Migraine Headaches Migraine headaches are a genetic disorder marked by moderate-to-severe headache episodes, generally linked with sensitivity to sound and light and nausea (Ruschel & De Jesus, 2023). While what causes the disorder is not fully understood, it can be analyzed through George Engel’s biopsychosocial model, which suggests that illness is an entity resulting from an interplay of biopsychosocial factors (Borrell-Carrió, 2004). Biological Factors According to Balasubramanian et al. (2021), one factor that causes migraines to develop is genetic predisposition, with specific individuals having a higher susceptibility. Other causal factors include imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine and abnormalities in brain structure and function. Psychological Factors Stress, anxiety, and depress...
