Ceylan Yeginsu’s What Are the Roadblocks to a ‘Vaccine Passports’?
One of the quotes from Ceylan Yeginsu’s article that inspires me is “Currently, Americans are issued a white paper card as evidence of their COVID-19 shots, but these can easily be forged, and online scammers are already selling false and stolen vaccine cards” (Yeginsu, 2021). The reason I am interested in this quote is that it shows that introducing vaccine passports will not give a clear picture of whether individuals have been vaccinated or not. I feel bad to know that some people are buying vaccine cards from scammers, which puts other people’s lives in jeopardy. In my opinion, the government should try to come up with a legitimate way to help businesses and organizations differentiate those who have been vaccinated against coronavirus and those who have not. If I could write to Yeginsu, I would tell her that a digital vaccination certificate is one of the best ways to ensure that businesses operate without the fear of spreading COVID-19.
