It should not come as a surprise in the America’s intentions for maintaining an interest in Mexico especially on matters related to cross-border trade and investment. This scenario is projected to continue for quite long due to the boom population in United States. There are no other means of indicating that concrete trade activities are needed order to match the demographic figures for equitable growth and developing. The anticipated growth of the country is a subject to U.S. economy.
The economic sector of U.S has been haunted by inadequate investments that are estimated to around $8 billion dollars. Moreover, it is perceived that the increasing levels of insecurities at the border are hindering the economic activities in the country; thus Mexican route will be more reliable in meeting the expected sales. Still there is no doubt about the low manufacturing operations in the United States. Compared to Mexico, the manufacturing of different commodities is attained at cheap labor (Friedman, 135). There closure of most of the America’s Companies has led to loss jobs by many American’s thus translating to a desperate society. This disparity indicates that the issue of developing a strong link with the Mexican government is not a choice but one of the top priorities.
Actually, U.S interest in Mexico is not only due to its economic benefits but also the social integrity of the two nations. Among the things that underlines the economic conditions of Mexico as a suitable choice to U.S is that the country will provide a reliable trade and investments. In addition, the social and political conditions of the Mexico will accommodate the boom in the economic conditions of America under the influence of immigration activities. The economic integration between these countries is enhanced by the implementation of North American Free Trade Agreement. Mexico is connected with United States through trade and financial matters, migrations and tourism, environment and health concerns, and family and cultural relationships. The business tie between these countries is prospering due to Mexico’s industrial diversification. In fact, petroleum and natural gas produced in Mexico are exported to United States (Friedman, 133).
