Technology, in particular, often creates changes that lead to ever greater inequalities. In short, the gap gets wider faster. This technological stratification has led to a new focus on ensuring better access for all. There are two forms of technological stratification.

Knowledge Gap and E-readiness

The digital divide is the gap and imbalance in the use and access to information and communication technologies based on socioeconomic levels. Inequality in access to the internet and ICT further widens digital literacy skills. An example of the digital divide is the case of students from a low-income area having no access to technology in the school. Another case is poor access to the internet because of living in far-flung areas with poor and limited internet access. Knowledge Gap and E-readiness
Knowledge gap and E-readiness are forms of technology inequality like the digital divide. The knowledge gap is the increasing gap in information among those with less access to information. The lack of teacher training is part of the knowledge gap that implies that they lack the digital literacy skills to impart these skills to students and use them. Another issue is insufficient health information when there are language barriers.
