(2023) assert, trauma counseling is based on developmental psychology, including concepts such as developmental traumatology and ecological systems theory. Knowledge of these frameworks enables the counselor to identify how trauma affects neurobiological and psychosocial development and to apply this knowledge to the child’s developmental age.
