1 The course readings were quite interesting and general immersive. The first one, by Siedlikowsk et al. (2021) undertakes an ethnographic study on understanding children as agents of their personal lives. The most significant feature or argument that stood out for me is that we find young people being treated as recipients of services, policies, rules, and regulations in many situations. This tends to conflict with their innate natures, aspirations, and goals. As a result, the article might serve as an eye-opener to institutions. I believe it is high time we involve young people in decision-making and policy formulation, and thus I would like to know what ways we can achieve this in our institution.
