Scope Overview
This project's main scope is to plan a historic welcome parade for the troops returning from Iraq. The event is intended to honor about 11000 soldiers of the US army and air force for their brave win in the war. They had been out of the country on year-long rotations and were to return in March 2004. The event was scheduled for the 5th of June. The project leader was O'Donnel LLP. The project management team faced different problems, including limited time and lack of funds.
Business Case
This project's primary objective is to organize a historical parade to celebrate these soldiers' dedication to the fight. The community's participation in this event is a good chance to show support to the men and women who fought bravely under dangerous circumstances in the Iraq war. In addition to honoring the soldiers for their and unconditional loyalty to their motherland, the parade will also pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the line of duty (Kloppenborg, T. J. 2013). The business case of this occasion is ensuring that the project is completed successfully within the planned time frame and the set budget.
Background
Colorado Springs is home to several major military bases. Scriever Air force Base, Fort Carson, and the famous Air Force Academy, among others, are located in this town. The residents have decided to pay tribute to around 11,000 troops by planning a parade to welcome them home. A project management team headed by O'Donnel LLP and a committee from the city are involved in organizing, implementing, and finalizing this project. The leader had substantial fundraising and parade planning experience, which was an essential part of this project. The City Council of this town donated resources and personnel to the project.

Funds: The parade requires $280000 as per the prepared budget. The management team ought to plan how to acquire the stated amount for the project's proper implementation. The budget breakdown is provided in the second part of this report.
People: The successful execution of this project requires input from different people. These include the management team, military, air force representatives, Musical bands, police officers, city council officials, and other resource providers (Gido, Clements, & Clements, 2014).

Lessons learned
To combat the limited time frame and budget, the team mobilized and exhausted all the available avenues, like finding out what each organization would contribute. The management team approached the project in reverse order, establishing the project's scope before the resources. However, the team had to find resources to determine the project. Last minutes changes presented challenges for the project. The stakeholders from Fort Carson asked that the troops be fed after the welcome parade.
