Statement, Commonwealth Senior Living.
My name is Elfeck Jeng, RN, BSN. I worked for Commonwealth Senior Living from September 26, 2023, to October 31, 2024, as an LPN, a copy of my name tag will be attached. I Was refused to be acknowledged as an RN by the resident care director (Brenda McKendry LPN), because of racial discrimination and worried I might replace her. At one point, I had to speak with the Executive Director ( Jasmine Montgomery) about my concerns, such as my position, name tag, Uniform, and pay rate, and in return, an email was sent to the resident care director to follow up with me. Still, she refuses to talk to me or respond to the email sent to her about my concerns, reasons because she doesn’t want me to be addressed as an RN at the workplace since then she has been doing everything possible to get rid of me at the work environment. The email sent to her will be attached.
I have worked diligently for this company. There is no history of complaints from residents, family members, or employees, and no form of warning or disciplinary action has been taken against me. I am very hardworking, reliable, honest, trustworthy, caring, and a team player. Documents will be attached to validate my hard work.
On October 31, 2024, I was terminated from the workplace allegedly claiming I received a financial gift from one of the residents. And stated, “The policy is against that”. First and foremost, I was not aware of the policy not to render services or help a resident or any other at the workplace, and I don’t remember signing any paperwork related to that. The $2000.00 was not meant for me, was meant for donation to the less privileged in Africa, Sierra Leone to be precise. They couldn’t investigate the matter properly or neither wait for me to show up at the workplace and explain my self-better.
My relationship with residents and family members is very strong, through empathetic communication, a respectful attitude, and excellent customer service. Miss Caroline Pelton a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living told me about her stay in Sierra Leone to be specifically during her youth age, She was working as a teacher and emphasized how nice and loving they were, She explained her frequent donations to Africa, and I said to her I do the same by offering a scholarship to children, food, gifts items like clothes, footwear, toiletries and other household materials to charity organization and the less privilege. She was very happy to hear that, was very proud of me, and encouraged me to continue the good work. So, whenever she sees me, she will start a conversation by asking me questions about recent events in Africa especially in Sierra Leone, will explain about her previous stay in Africa and the time she spent there, she has been asking and begging me to help her donate to support any charity organization in Sierra Leone or to the less privilege. Resident willingly donated and in accordance following her wishes, the sum of $2000.00 in the form of a check and asked me to buy gifts, for example, food items like provision, soap, clothes, and footwear for the less privileged, those items were bought with the $2000.00 donation as directed by the donor (Miss Caroline Pelton) and forwarded to a Charity organization in Sierra Leone with Miss Caroline’s permission called Vulnerable Charity Foundation. Items or gifts worth $2000.00 were received by the foundation, and a letter of appreciation and a certificate that bears her name were issued, which I informed and showed to her, and was very happy and pleased that the donation went to a charity foundation (Vulnerable Charity Foundation) as she has wanted for the needy and less privileged.

Statement of Employment and Termination
My name is Elfeck Jeng, RN, BSN. I was employed by Commonwealth Senior Living from September 26, 2023, to October 31, 2024, in the capacity of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). I consistently demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and exceptional service to residents and staff during my time there. Despite this, I experienced racial discrimination and unjust treatment from the Resident Care Director, Brenda McKendry, LPN, who refused to acknowledge my credentials as a Registered Nurse (RN) due to discriminatory biases and an apparent concern that I might replace her.
Right from the start, I was obstructed from being identified as an RN. For example, although I presented the wanted papers and proof of my license, Brenda McKendry was obsessed with calling me LPN only. I took these reasons up with the Executive Director, Jasmine Montgomery, describing issues such as my official designation, name tag, uniform, and pay rate, which did not reflect my RN credentials. Subsequently, the Executive Director talked to Brenda McKendry by email, asking her to get in touch with me. Nevertheless, Brenda did not answer the email or show concern about my problem.
The evasion of dialogue with me was the move to hold back my professional existence and reliability in the area. Cindy behaved like an ill-natured person, which prevented her from making my remaining there hard and destroying my work. Despite the problems, I was still very dedicated to what I usually do and the place's residents. Neither beneficiaries nor, their families nor colleagues have ever issued any complaints against me. Besides, I have never been warned or disciplined since I was employed. My reputation as a person they can trust, who always feels empathy and handl...
