For this assignment, please retrieve and review one (1) published research articles (Either one quantitative or one qualitative study) related to the Evidence-Based Research Clinical Question of Interest. Use one of our Library Databases such as CINAHL or Medline

Use a research article published within the last 7 years. Do not use textbooks, opinion articles, commentaries, case studies, or literature review articles.

The research article must be referenced in strict accordance with the APA format.

Author(s), Date, Title of Article. Journal, Volume #, Issue #, Page Numbers.

Note: Please follow APA format closely. Remember that the title of articles and books are lower-cased except for the first word or after a colon (:). Also, remember that Journal names are capitalized and italicized and that book titles are also italicized.

Use the specific critique guidelines presented in Polit and Beck (2016) for quantitative or qualitative studies found on pages 102-109.

Please provide the headers and the questions identified in Polit and Beck so that it is easy to follow in grading your paper.

Answer each critique question, section by section.

Provide specific information from the article itself as you discuss and critique these studies so that I can understand the details from the study.

Using a conceptual or theoretical framework in quantitative research is one of the techniques for strengthening the study and its findings. For instance, the theoretical assumptions statement in the framework provides a reliable platform for evaluating the study from a critical perspective. Polit and Beck (2010) also indicate that the framework connects the existing knowledge and the current research. It also informs the hypothesis and the appropriate research methods for the researchers. Finally, it clarifies the diverse variables in the study and provides the extent of generalization for a researcher.
Polit and Beck (2010) indicate that although quantitative studies often overlook conceptual frameworks, qualitative ones consider these tools fundamental to their tradition. The researchers value the principles they draw from the theories to guide their questions and research methods. As a result, they are critical for the success of these studies.

Although different quantitative research designs exist, the specific ones comprise quasi-experimental, experimental, and nonexperimental ones (Polit & Beck, 2010). The author also lists the case studies, ethnographic, phenomenological, and grounded research designs as the central qualitative ones. Other subcategories of these designs also exist.
What are the differences in determining sample size between quantitative and qualitative research studies?
Determining the sample size in quantitative is more thorough and precise than in qualitative research. Polit and Beck (2010) indicate that the researchers use different forms of equations to arrive at the most significant possible sample for a study. The argument is that larger ones translated to improved representativeness. However, the case is different for qualitative because researchers follow no rules and limit the size based on their need for information. In this context, they prioritize data saturation when the sample becomes sufficient.
Discuss the difference in methods of data analysis for quantitative research versus qualitative research studies.
While quantitative research focuses on quantifying numbers in its data analysis, qualitative ones rely on thematic categorization and expression of subjective elements of their findings. Researchers indicate that the primary difference between quantitative and qualitative research approaches to generalizability is that the former applies valuable-oriented models that draw from individual cases (Borgstede & Scholz, 2021). However, the latter use case-oriented techniques that abstract from the characteristics of the individuals. The approach in quantitative reflects deductive reasoning, while that of qualitative represents inductive reasoning.
