Go to the website of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at http://www(dot)undp(dot)org/content/undp/en/home.html (Links to an external site.). Under the tab What We Do, go to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to see the 17 goals.

The first SDG is “No Poverty”. What is it? How is it related to some of the other SDGs? Pick a few and discuss briefly.

Go to the Human Development Reports by UNDP, available at: http://hdr(dot)undp(dot)org/en/home (Links to an external site.). Under the Country Profiles tab, read about the five indices released in the report.

Pick two countries. Compare their indices (when you click on a country, it provides a chart with the indices, the fifth is sometimes not given).

Under the Data Center tab, select a dimension (e.g., environmental sustainability) and an indicator (e.g., natural resource depletion) and compare the trends in the two countries in the available time frame. When you hit Submit, the site will show data for all countries for all available years in a table. Only focus on the data for the two countries you selected.

Briefly discuss the implications from these comparisons for international business.
