Movie Review: The Life of David Gale
Introduction
The purpose of writing the movie review is to explore the underlying ideas in the movie and to inform the reader regarding that movie. This paper aims to provide a review of this movie by discussing the story of the movie, the role of David Gale, infuriating moments found in the movie, personal opinion, and the performance of Spacey and Linney in the movie. The movie “The Life of David Gale” demonstrates a story of the well-known rival of the sentence which was charged with a woman’s murder with a similar sentence. A British director Alan Parker directed this movie.

Role of David Gale
The role of David Gale is being played by Kevin Spacey, who is a vicious man living in Texas. He is supposed to declare his innocence in front of a reporter Bitsey Bloom. The role of the reporter Bitsey Bloom is played by Kate Winslet (SBS n.d.). The role of David Gale in this movie was performed marvelously; rather it also served as a plausible cause. The movie presents David Gale as a morally dishonest, intellectually bankrupt and corrupt person. The personality of David Gale was presented as principled that is now disgraced. Even after his marriage, Gale has chosen a wrong path after which his life began to collapse.
Movie Story
The start of the story was unique as it was four days before the execution of Gale from imprisonment in Texas. He agreed to break the silence that he had from many years to declare his own story to Bloom, the magazine reporter. David Gale claimed to be mounted by conservative cohorts of a death penalty as this death might give an expressive irony (TV Tropes n.d.). He indicated that he had many reasons far from killing the women, i.e., Constance Harraway, played by Laura Linney. Around half of the story David told was presented as a flashback while explaining to the reporter, Bitsey. After recognizing the case, David became successful in convincing the reporter to believe his innocence.
Later a keen intern “Zack” joined her in this case, while Gabriel Mann played the role. Both Zack and Bitsey observed that there is always someone who is constantly following them no matter where they are going. The follower was a gaunt-faced fellow wearing the cowboy hat who may be the capital sentence person who murdered that women or someone other than that. In case of someone else following them constantly, he must be tracking them with MacGuffin, when the distressing death phases are suggested in the videotape of Constance.
The person with cowboy hat elaborates the “Principle of the Unassigned Character,” which was previously called “the Law of Economy of Character Development.” The principle demonstrates that the dominant characters that seem to be inessential for action may prove to be the key characters in the story. This cowboy dwells in a tumble-down shack with old calendars and with peanut butter and flies. Further, it was also shown that the yard had more bedsprings as compared to the number of beds in the house.
Kevin Spacey pinched a title role at the end though it was a wise move. Spacey is supposed to have an appropriate amount of discreet seriousness for giving more potential in the death row drama and make it more effective. Gale had only a few days to go for proving his innocence after being guilty of the murder of his fellow activist and friend Laura Linney, after which he would have been sent to sharp shock treatment. In the meanwhile, Gale convinced the fearsome journalist Bloom in the investigation of this murder and his loss of grace after being exposed as an adulterous alcoholic in public (Charactour n.d.). It was a critical situation for Gale, especially when the time was not in favor of him. However, for a revelatory ending, the plot rings were ironed out that revealed important findings from the flashback scenes.
It was the finely sharpened with a bit lazy role of Spacey contributed by the supportive role of Bitsey’s young intern that is Gabriel Mann and the murder vic...
