An Ethical Dilemma and How to handle it
An ethical dilemma occurs when an incident happens which causes an individual to question his/her reaction based on beliefs. Additionally, it also constitutes making a decision on choosing between what is wrong and right. In most cases, an ethical dilemma can be sorted out easily after getting adequate time to reason. However, it is sometimes very difficult in some cases. Sometimes, people found themselves in a very compromising position where they have to make a decision. These decisions always contain consequences despite what they decide.
An example of an ethical dilemma is in a case where a salesperson gives kickbacks in order to make massive sales. The sales person makes an illegal payment to some people to ensure he/she sells the goods. In a situation where they make an agreement concerning the kickback, the salesperson gets the sale. On the contrary, he/she risks being caught and resulting into massive trouble. However, in a situation where the salesperson and the customer do not reach an agreement, he/she does not make the sale. As a result, this ends up looking bad on the side of the employer. Additionally, the salesperson ends up asking themselves many questions, which leaves him/her, in an ethical dilemma. They ask themselves if they should report the case to their employers or if they should just make a decision and keep quiet and wait for the consequences later.
Certainly, this is a simple example of an ethical dilemma. This is despite the norma...
