Based on Carl Jung's "Answer to Job," Job, a biblical character, undergoes various tribulations that test his reverence and devoutness towards Yahweh. Unani has experienced her share of tribulations, which has left her seeking solace in her work and her star-crossed love—her fiancé. Job faced terror and afflictions that left him groveling in the dust, yet he was equally confident about the goodness in Yahweh (Jung 21). One cannot help but wonder how Job would have handled the modern-day odysseys that Unani struggled to navigate. The parallel lives of Job and Unani intertwine because both were faced with psychological conquests and the quest for individuation. The afflictions one faces prompt them to formulate questions about their existence and current suffering. For those who believe in a religious deity, the questions are often targeted to the Supreme Being. This paper tries to establish what Job would do if he were in Unani’s situation.
