In the Middle Ages, theater emerged as a distinctive form of art. The Greek theater originated from Dionysian worship, and the medieval theater became an expression of the Christian religion. Between the Classical and Renaissance periods, a large number of entertainers made their groups to keep the theater alive in one way or the other.
