Black communities in America have a complicated ethnic and racial relationship with the white majority. Systemic racism has affected black people for centuries. This paper looks at how black communities have been impacted in sectors such as transportation, health, housing, and education. The transportation sector in the US tends to favor the middle class and affluent areas. Whites dominate a significant proportion of these neighborhoods. This situation has disadvantaged impoverished black communities which continue to have lower levels of infrastructure development. Also, when these inner-city neighborhoods have redeveloped the rise in rent prices causes many low-income residents of color to move out (Ezike, 2016). This cycle causes many people of color to settle in poor housing conditions across large metropolitan areas in America.
In terms of education, the racial segregation that was rampant in America during the 19th and 20th century led to poorly equipped schools for black communities. These schools became significantly underfunded. The funding policy of the federal government...
