Preparing Chicken Curry
There are different types of chicken dishes that people enjoy. Examples include roasting or grilled chicken, marinated barbecue chicken, butter chicken, among others. However, none comes close to chicken curry. This Indian chicken dish leaves one desiring and asking for more. Here is a detailed essay showcasing how this tasty dish is prepared.
First of all, one needs to have all the ingredients with them. Missing one of these will leave one with something that is not chicken curry. The ingredients include:
- 3 tbsp of oil - 1 large onion chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, chopped- 1 tbsp garlic chopped
- 1 tbsp green chilies chopped- 2 tbsp coriander-cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder- ½ tsp chili powder
- 2 cups of tomatoes, chopped/pureed- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp tomato paste- 1 chicken – cut in pieces
- ½ cup yoghurt- Chopped coriander leaves
Pour the oil into a pan (preferably heavy-bottomed). Add the chopped onions into the pan and sauté for a minute. The color you are hoping to achieve is golden brown. Add the chopped ginger, garlic, and green chilies into the pan. Cook for a minute. Ginger and garlic usually have a strong raw smell. Leaving the mixture to cook for a minute ensures that this raw smell disappears. But, do not leave them to burn, or else your chicken curry will not taste as good.
