The article ‘The Function of the Studio` by Daniel Buren asks the functions that the studio has for the artwork and the artist in basic terms. Being an art and technology student, my studio has computers, scanner, printer, pen, and touch tablet which suit my needs. That equipment incorporates the functions of a lab studio in one. This helps me have small footprint in my studio setting. I only need to carry around my hard disk that I use for my projects. When I occupy myself with art, I become so involved that I feel like the computer is part of my body. Those computers in my lab installed almost all software I need for my work.
My lab studio is also able to offer printing services in numerous formats. I am able to scan my artworks in any format as well. I am able to take quick notes, play games, and turn pages with the help of the pen. In my workplace, I ask for positive criticism from my fellow art and tech classmates. It helps me to get varied ideas. My studio functions as a great influence on my ability to concentrate and come up with the best artwork. Everything in the workplace affects the outcome of my work (Buren, 1971).
