Introduction and Brief Summary
I am glad for the opportunity I had to intern at dB Control over the summer. I spent more than a month at the company, an experience that exposed me to the actual work environment pertaining to my career. Not only did this field exposure allow me to apply the theoretical concepts learned in class, but provided me with a context for practical learning and gaining experience. Through job-time interactions with my supervisors and other employee, I gained skills that give me more confidence as a Technician. However, this does not mean that I`ve mastered everything in my field; it is my belief that learning is a continuous process that extends beyond formal schooling and throughout one`s professional career. It is also my belief that it is through constant learning that employees horn their skills to a level that enable them to add value to their employers.
dB Control has a very professional and friendly workforce that I found easy and interesting to work with. Indeed, the company`s achievements indicate that team building and creating mutual relationships with fellow workers is crucial for institutional success. In addition, creating a good working environment is an important factor for employee motivation. This fact was made clear to me on my first day of reporting from the warm welcome I received. Besides treating me as one of their own, they invited me to join them in celebrating Halloween and Thanks Giving parties. They advised me on how to conduct myself around the company premises and safety procedures to observe. They also guided me in troubleshooting technical problems.
