Kip Kinke
Pbs.org (1) gives a comprehensive report on the case of Kip Kinke. From the timeline, it appears that he had a disturbed childhood. His parents appeared to have a difficulty bringing him up in the right way. He went on a Sabbatical in Spain and had problems at school. Occasionally, he attended counseling sessions and was at one time recommended for a special education program. As such, the parents and teachers consulted a psychiatrist and looked into the matter. However, he could not be integrated into a special education program since he scored above the required percentile. His lower grade teachers indicate that he did not have discipline issues. He also did not have any problems with his academics, only having a difficulty with his languages. From this timeline, it is evident that Kinke did not have much of the problems that killers often have.
There is an indication, however, that Kinke had the ability to perpetrate acts of violence. At one time when he was still an adolescent, he was restrained in a youth facility together with his friend after they had rolled a stone from an uphill, which led to the crashing of a car and the harming of several people. He was also reported to be using the drugs Prozac and Methylphenidate, which are SSRI (Freedom Magazine, 1). From statistics, it is indicated that other people on such SSRI drugs had the ability to perpetrate such acts of violence. These include Eric Harris who planned for the killing of 12 students and a teacher and a teacher before he and his partner finally shot themselves. Luke Woodham also did the same by killing three people, one of them his mother, and also wounded six more. Kinke was the last person on this list who killed four people, one of them being his mother. This act was carried out after he had taken his drugs. As such, it can be seen that there was a likelihood of the individual carrying out such an activity.
The event that Kinke carried out was reported widely on the media. Many people also gave their reports regarding this issue and what they thought about it. Much of the people indicated that it is possible that Kinke`s parents brewed the killer without their knowledge.
Rowles (1) indicates that Kinke grew up in an environment where he was somehow alienated from his parents. Though they were brought up together with hi sister, there were instances when their parents grew far from them, especially the one year sabbatical where he had to spend in Spain. He developed psychological problems which culminated in the murders that he com...
