Humans live by connecting themselves to their spiritual father. In order to ensure a good connection, certain measures need to be practiced to have a worthwhile connection with the spiritual being. Ignatius Loyal teaches on some aspects that one should put into practice to connect to their supernatural being. There are practices and habits that a person should include in their life for them to feel they have a partnership with their spiritual father.
According to Ignatius, there are daily Spiritual Practices that a person should exercise. When one wakes in the morning, they need to guard their steps and correct where they tend to go wrong. Secondly, Ignatius says that after one takes their mid-day meal, it is important for them to talk to God and ask for the required grace (Loyola 160). During mid-day, a person should seek to ask for an account of themselves from God to let out whatever is hindering them from moving forward. Ignatius also advises that after one takes supper, they should have a third examination for their actions for them to have a satisfactory life.
Ignatius goes further to highlight the methods of examining one’s conscience that should be followed. Ignatius says that it is important to thank God for the favors that He gives out. Ignatius also believes that it is important for Grace from God for one to understand their sins. Demanding an individual's account daily is also a factor that Ignatius believes people should be involved in daily (Loyola 26). One should also not tire from asking for God's forgiveness for the faults that one takes part in. Ignatius also advises that a person should resolve to amend their ways with God and seek more grace. Another important exercise was thinking about our sins. “And thus, like something unravelling itself, he went on thinking about sin after sin from times previous, and it seemed to him he was duty-bound to confess them again” (Loyola 24).
