Name Tutor Course Date The Opinion of being a Free Rider Free will has from the ancient period been observed as the type of power, which is capable of controlling an individual's action and choice. It is observed that when an individual exercises free will on their choices or actions these choices and actions are up to them in the sense that they have an opportunity to choose another choice or action otherwise they are not in a position to act or choose what they do. Another view is that it is up to them as they are the source of their action. These two views raise concern on whether free will require both views and if they are required it is in what requirement or what sense of freedom. According to Watson (150), some have attempted to solve the above predicament by articulating experiences that are associated with the deliberation of action and choices we make and some seek to expound on the same based on the nature of the moral responsibility. Therefore; free will is observed to be the control condition appealing to be the strongest or "whatever it turns out to be” for the responsibility of our morals. On the above definition, I find it easier to determine if the freedom to take the otherwise or self-determination power form a part of free will and if they do what sense do, they take based on what is meant to be a morally responsible individual. Free Rider and Morality I hold that when an individual is observed to be morally accountable for wrongful act then they are blameworthy and they ought to receive harsh action based on the indignation, resentment and the treatment we get from these actions such as rebuke and censure (Strawson 70). Nevertheless, it is not fair to treat the individual in this manner if the wrongful act were not up to them: unless the wrongful act was up to the individual, it would not be fair to treat the individual as it is. This makes the connection between free will and being responsible morally and that is the individual is only to be blamed or praised if the action were up to them and if they had free will.
