Different from other forms of religions who have a certain believe, Buddhism is known as a path of practice as well spiritual development which leads to insight into a true nature of reality. Buddhist has practices like mediation which are means of changing oneself in order to develop the qualities of awareness, wisdom and kindness. Buddhist tradition has developed experience over thousands of year which has created an incomparable resource for all those who wish to pursue a path, a path which eventually concludes in enlightenment or Buddhahood. In this case, the enlightened persons see the nature of reality clearly, just as it is, and as well lives fully and naturally in accordance with that vision. This is said to be the goal of Buddhist spiritual life, representing the end of suffering for anyone who accomplish it.
Its is believed that for more than 2,500 years, Buddhism has been the primary motivation behind many victorious society, the source of great culture accomplishment and a lasting and significant guide to the very purpose of life for millions of people. It has been noted that today, large numbers of men as well that of women from different backgrounds throughout the world are following the Teaching of the Buddha.
One could not tell what is meant by Buddhism without knowing who Buddha was as well his teaching. Historically, the man who was to become the Buddha was born Siddattha Gotama at around 2,600 years ago. He was born as a Prince of a small region near what is the Indian-Nepalse border.
Though he was brought up well such that he could not miss anything in life, no material pleasure could satisfy the enquiring and philosophic nature of the young man. After he attained the age of 29, he left the palace and as well his family just to search for a deeper denotation in the secluded forest in a remote mountains of North-East India. While he was here, he studied under the wisest religions teachers as well philosophers of his time scrutinizing anything they hand to offer him as he learned but this was not enough and he found it well to struggle alone.
After attaining the age of 35 on the full moon night of May, he sat under the branches of what is known as the Bodhi Tree, in a secluded grove by the banks of the river Neranajra, In his mind, he developed tranquil meditation, Using the extraordinary clarity of such a mind with its sharp penetrative power generated by states of the dipper inner stillness, he managed to turn his attention to investigate upon the hidden meaning of mind, life and not forgetting the universe.
