Tim Cook, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is one of the greatest leaders in the world. He took over the CEO leadership position from Steve Jobs in October 2011. Indeed, it has been almost a decade now and Cook has enabled Apple to retain its competitive advantage.
Based on my MBAC 5105 – Organizational Behavior course, I have learned that an effective leader has a strong drive for responsibility. Additionally, he or she is vigorous and persistent in pursuing established organizational goals, self-confident, original in solving problems, influence others, and is willing to accept the consequences of his or her actions. In my opinion, all these characteristics describe Cook. Cook is self-confident and has been persistent to ensure that Apple Inc. has a superb reputation. Despite the challenges he has faced in his leadership tenure, this leader addresses them appropriately. Cook trusts people around him, and he listens to their ideas and opinions.
