According to the F.B.I. Uniform Crime Report (UCR), data for serious offenses like homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, rape, and auto-theft are committed by the younger age groups (UCR). This report indicates that the peak age (age-group with the highest arrest rate) is younger than twenty-five years. Most criminals for violent crimes start committing crimes during their teenage years. In fact, even for all arrests that occur, 50 percent of the crimes are committed by people below thirty years. UCR notes that data collected by the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) for juvenile and adult criminality collaborates these finds in relation to age-related patterns of crime.
