Wang’s memories relate to the Dragon Boat Festival because it is on of the foods that is served during the occasion that he remembers. He remembers this because of the festival’s motif of different colors, and the duck egg is presented as one the most common dishes. Duck eggs were cheap in his town.
Wang describes his home town as located in an area with many waterways. This situation was ideal for duck raising and producing many duckeggs. Another factor that gives value to the duck eggs was because it came from a renowned breed of duck from Gaoyou. Wang says their eggs are popular due to its high quality.
