The Views on Kingship
Shakespeare is famous for his creative art in both poetries, plays, and other short story writings. He was an excellent user of imagery that created a vision of scenes to the minds of the reader that made his stories interesting. Most of his plays and poetry expressed realism to that ancient society and rulings. His characters played a central role in both the theme and general portrayal of behaviors in different people in different positions. This discussion narrows down on how Shakespeare included history in his work but focused on the private passions of the titular characters, especially Richard III, and Henry V.
History was interesting to Shakespeare, and he has used the York and Lancaster kingship to clearly show the different portrayals of titular characters and the overall theme of his work. He has used Richard III as the central character to bring out clear governance in the ancient rulings. When Richard takes over, he catches his audiences' attention by promising them that he will "prove a villain." People were fascinated as they saw him as the only hope to change the previous bad rulings that only resulted in civil wars. The character of Richard III is clearly portrayed when clarence manipulates him in his decisions and rulings, and when he notes that, with hypocrisy Richard III "comforts" clarence in his leadership. His determination to unit England is clearly seen but also is his character. Shakespeare makes us feel the real character of Richard within a historical lineage of almost a hundred years. He places Richard III as the key character of the play, from who he organizes the play around him. Richard III influences the rest of the characters like the king; his decisions play a key role in the progress of the play by developing the story's width. The era of Richard III begins with peace and eventually ends with peace, but his character as a titular character is clearly brought out in the play.
When the portrayal of Richard III is compared to that of Henry V, it can be concluded that Henry V sums up the whole leadership techniques observed by Shakespeare’s in the entire decade. On the other hand, Richard III is portrayed as the founder of the new united England. Through his brilliant leadership, Richard is able to control his victims as he desires. He can be referred to as the master of his victims. He was smart to avoid conflicts and build peace between the dynastic rival York and Lancaster. Through his brilliant minds, he assures clarence that he will rescue him whatever it takes, “your imprisonment shall not belong, and I will deliver you, or else I lie" (Parmita, p1112). This shows how Richard III trusted himself in hand...
