Nadler, M. and Nadler, S. (2010) established that the study of philosophy attracts several people, not only those taking it as an exclusive course but people in other disciplines who feel it is a subject they would love to study. I struggled to understand their reaosons, and one that cut across several fields is the love for knowledge and wisdom. Being my discipline, I am hugely indebted to philosophers who developed ideas and concepts that we currently learn and apply in our daily lives. This class has, for a huge stride, assisted me in developing my theories about life, society, ethics, morals, logic, history, and arguments, among others (Nadler, M & Nadler, S., 2010). In this class, my thinking progressed from the basics of knowledge, reasoning, have my preferred philosophers, were full of obstacles, and I developed ways of improving myself, as I plan to steer ahead in the course. Here is a summary of how my studies changed and the progress made.
My thinking changed from a universal and one-line idea to gathering of several critical skills before I make any judgment. Before joining this class, I had one set mind about how I do things and found it plausible to judge people and what they did. In my introductory course, one of the things we were told is our thinking would change with time, and judgment as well. From that day, I have studied how people reason, intuition, the critical assessment of a situation, engaging the environment in our agumens, exploring the causes for a behavior or not, and this makes our thinking more detailed. In doing so, my writing changed from the basics to well detailed arguments. I take more of wide-view cases, and must understand every concept before writing about them. Such considerations make any conclusions justified, explained, and thoroughly inferred. Conclusivel, I can say my best lessons this semester is learning to study concepts, societies, and individuals to understand their behavior or way of life before we can judge them.
My best philosopher defines my best philosophy. Aristotle stood out as one of the phiosophers whose books I plan to explore from time to time. One of his best was on ethics, which informed us of what right things to do (Knight, 2013). It is not only choosing for us the items we would do in our lives but gives a threshold argument for our choices. In choosing ethics, our societies set standards of what is right; we decide to follow them, and form a unified argument about them. It not only improves our way of life but keeps the society under constant check on what it does. Other concepts developed by Aristotle included metaphysics, four courses, and dialectic. It is paramount to note that there were numerous theorists whom we chose to learn. Others included Feud, Socrates, Plato, Karl Mx, Ludwig, and others. One thing I learned was the reasoning that p[hilosophers had about the world.
