RIP Project Proposals
RIP Proposal #1: Newspaper Article Focusing On the Effect Memes Have On Our Society
This newspaper article is focused on delivering a message about the effect that memes have on our societies. Memes have become widespread and accessible in the society today. The newspaper would focus on sending a message on how memes have become widespread in several high schools and how they have affected how teens think in several ways. The focus will be on the negative and the positive effects so that people get to understand how it affects the society. What stuck out to me about this specific project is the level of creativity that it allows. I can also directly expand on my writing abilities through the different sections of text that I would provide. The genre would be of an informative and comedic style in order to keep the target audience entertained while also providing facts in an analytic matter. The audience would consist of people of both genders and range from young adults to the middle-aged in order to accommodate all those aware of our current culture switch. The persona I would play would be that of a professional newspaper author, and the historical context of the piece would take place in the present time.

Proposal #2: Movie Poster for a Made up Movie Using Memetic Elements to Attract an Audience
For the second proposal, I am proposing to create a movie poster that incorporates memetic elements in order to attract its audience. This project will ultimately showcase what I’ve learned throughout this course through my ability to connect with an audience and how to rhetorically analyze what it is that I do. The reason why I chose this project is that it allows me to showcase my understanding of different rhetorical situations and how to connect with an audience. I also have a strong love for movies, so doing a project such as this would undoubtedly be of enjoyment to me. The message I will be sending with this poster is that movies are meant for entertainment and relaxation. I want to make the people know that they would enjoy watching movies as they will allow them to have a moment of relaxation. The genre would come off as almost comic in order to attract a younger audience. The age group that’s most targeted would range all the way from kids to young adults, and this will include people of both genders. The persona I would be playing would be that of a movie’s designer/advertisement department. The historical context of this project would play into our present time.

Proposal #3: A Music Album Cover that Uses Memetic Elements to Attract Its Audience
In the final proposal, am suggesting a music cover album that uses memetic elements to attract its audience. The message of this proposal on how the outlook of music covers can influence an individual to make purchases. The reason why I chose this project is that of its relevance to our current pop culture. Music will always be the rage. So, I wanted to try something that would reflect how today’s music can be portrayed. Similar to my movie poster proposal, a project like this would allow me to showcase my ability to connect with an audience through rhetorical situations and how to rhetorically analyze what it is that I create. The genre would be that of a comedic style in order to accommodate to the humor of today’s generation while still playing tribute to the musical style that would need to be embodied. The audience would be aimed at a young adult to adult range. The only persona I would be playing would be that of a designer. The cultural context of the project would be presented in the present.

RIP Project
Introduction
The story covered here may be a fiction, but it highlights how meme has influenced culture. It is a known fact that memes have become prevalent in the society today. Therefore, I believe that this story will help raise attention to the readers on the effects of memes and how they can handle them.
The Prevalence of Memes
It is a school day, and John is reluctant to wake up. How he hates the school day! He needs something to brighten his day and turns to his Facebook page. He knows that there, he can find some good memes. He scrolls down the page and finds a picture saying that he can get good grades if he studies for exams. In the background, there is a child celebrating and happy. John figures out he can be happy too, like that child. He is fired up and ready to face the morning.
Just as he is about to log out, a picture of a student called Mark catches his attention.
“Holy shit!” he shouts.
Mark has just posted a picture of his nude girlfriend with the inscription, “how she reacts when you finally find out she is a bitch.”
It is obvious that Mark and Jane have had their issues, but to post that would be demeaning. He prepares to go to school eager to find out what other students are saying. At school, the picture has gone viral, and virtually everyone at l has seen it. It is the topic of conversation at the school, and the boys are eager to carry the conversation along. Jane is distraught because of the picture. She regrets sharing her nude pictures with Mark. She never imagined he would put her to shame like that. She casts an isolated figure in class as curious glances are focused on her. When she cannot finally bear it, she goes and reports to the principal.
Mark knows that the damage is done and Mary will not recover from the shame he has put her through. His picture has been shared by several people, and the comments have been worth reading.
Mr. George enters the classroom ready for the morning session. It is time for mathematics, and the boys are eager. They know it is their area of specialty. Before starting the session, Vincent posts a meme on Facebook with a lady sleep with the words, “it is time for mathematics.” It is intended to mean that mathematics is not meant for ladies. The ladies are not happy, and the comments he gets are full of anger. The men are quick to agree with him, but some opt to disagree.
At the end of the lesson, Mark gets a call from the principal. It is clear that his meme of Jane has landed him in trouble. The principal explains to him that it is not in the culture of the school to allow for defamation. Mark realizes that Jane will report to the police that he shared her nude picture with others. He is expelled from the school and faces jail time if convicted of the crime. With a criminal record, it is highly probable that he will not live the future he would have wanted.
John takes a walk out of the classroom to relax for a while before continuing with other classes. The students appear happy and giggling and always glued to their phones. He knows they have read something in their pages that have made them happy. Staying online is what students do these days.
Internet memes have encouraged the youth to engage in ridiculous challenges, sometimes with devastating consequences. Running into Mary made John recount the devastating situation they had to go ...
